Become a master in Strange Electronics' SETLIST, TUNELIVE, and LYRICS, the highly acclaimed playback plugins known for their exceptional efficiency and reliability in the music industry. This workshop is designed to impart the top playback engineers' refined and proven method, who have actively contributed to Setlist's development and evolution.

The workshop is suitable for artists, music producers, engineers, students, and anyone in the music industry, seeking to enhance their skills and knowledge. Attendees will gain industry-standard insights and techniques, learn the best practices for optimizing signal paths, and get hands-on experience building playback racks and using MIDI controllers in Ableton.

In addition, the workshop will cover topics such as Autotune, using the LYRICS app as a teleprompter, and tips for staying organized and productive while on tour. Participants will also learn about various playback systems, their pros and cons, and how to select the best setup that suits their requirements.

This workshop provides an extensive and immersive learning experience that focuses on the Strange Method, the industry standard for playback. DAY 1 - Program a Show
​
Learn the Strange Method: expect a training session covering everything you need to know about using Ableton for live performance playback. You will learn all the skills needed to program a live show from beginning to end. Work with real-life examples used on the road and do hands-on troubleshooting exercises. Get expert 1-on-1 advice from your instructors on everything playback.

FAQ
Q: What do I require to be able to attend the workshop? Do I have to be a genius at Ableton Live?
A: We recommend that attendees have some understanding and work fluency in Ableton Live and a basic notion of audio engineering. However, this workshop is suitable for individuals at all levels of experience, from beginners to advanced users.
Q: Do I need to bring my own equipment?
A: Yes. Every attendee must provide their own laptop computer with any working version of Ableton Live and headphones. We recommend bringing any additional equipment that you usually use in your workflow, such as MIDI controllers, audio interfaces, etc.
Q: How do I get there?
A: The workshop venue will take place at Strange HQ in downtown Los Angeles. We recommend using public transportation or ride-sharing services to reach the venue. There is additional street parking in the neighborhood.
Q: I can't attend on these dates. Will there be another workshop in the future?

Q: Is lunch provided during the workshop?
A: Lunch is provided, along with a one-hour lunch break each day. You may also order food of your preference or go somewhere nearby within the hour.
Q: Will I receive a certificate after completing the workshop?
A: Yes, you will receive a certificate of completion after successfully completing the course.
Q: What is the refund policy if I can no longer attend the workshop?
A: If you need to cancel your registration, you may receive a full refund minus the full cost of Setlist before the enrollment deadline (September 1st, 2023). After that, a refund will not be given, although it can be reallocated to a future event, if and when it may occur.
Q: Is there an age limit to attend the workshop?
A: No, there is no age limit to attend the workshop. However, attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Q: Will there be any breaks during the workshop?
A: Yes, there will be several breaks throughout the day, including a lunch break.
Q: Can I use a PC instead of a Mac for the workshop?
A: Yes, a PC with Ableton Live is suitable for the workshop.
